
Northwest Airlines has filed a request with the U.S. Department of Transportation (D.O.T) for the right to increase its service to China. The airline is seeking the government’s approval to provide daily, nonstop service between Detroit and Shanghai.
It hopes to start by March 25, 2007, through its Boeing 747-400 with World Business Class seats 65 in number and coach class seats 338 in number. Northwest Airlines is the world’s fifth largest airline which along with its partner s provide services to more than 160 countries.
