skycar-1_45

eBay designates skycar as a milestone in the development of vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft. Its prototype is being sold by California-based developer Moller International. The bidding for it stands at just over $2m (£1.2m), which is miraculous for a machine that, its maker admits, can’t really fly yet. Well it might seem impossible now but a time will come when the sky will be full of affordable skycars!

The four-seater Skycar could provide a solution to future traffic jams. Its eight engines run on bioethanol and return around 20mpg (better than some SUVs) It will eventually be cheaper than a helicopter and faster (with a maximum speed of 350mph).
