The Airport was closed for 3 days to carry on the expansions and will close again from Oct. 24 to Nov. 2. The increased runway will be 5,500 feet by 100 feet thereby making it 1000 feet longer and 25 feet wider.
This is all is in aid of it being able to handle increased traffic of planes . It will thus have Level III classification enabling it to handle commercial aircraft or a variety of business or corporate jets.
This is prompting pilots with tie-downs at the airport to move their planes elsewhere. Though helicopters operations are carrying on.
