Every year poor foggy conditions during winter season resulted in delay of flights and passengers were forced to wait to fly. This year government seems more active to tackle this problem in advance.
The civil aviation ministry has asked all domestic carriers to change their flight timings as per the passenger’s conveniences and inform them about the changes. Passengers will also get food and water in case the flights get delayed for too long.
K. Gohain Director General Civil Aviation told media persons:
The government has issued certain guidelines to ensure comfort for passengers during the winter season as flights often get delayed due to foggy conditions in the airport.
The ministry was also worried about the pilots in private airlines not being acquainted with CAT-II and CAT-III systems, which helps to take off and land under foggy conditions.
Delay of flights is a common problem among the north Indian airports in winter as a result passengers get troubled and the preparations made by the government beforehand are really commendable.
